Congratulations to the founders of AI Interpreting, Assiduous, Push Me and Snappie who were the winners at the New Frontiers Showcase held in September. The Showcase celebrated the achievements of the 'Class of 2023' at the dlr LexIcon, Dun Laoghaire.
A total of 13 start-ups undertook the six-month programme delivered by the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) Media Cube, in partnership with Nova UCD and Enterprise Ireland. After presenting final pitches to a judging panel during the Showcase event, four of the participating start-ups were announced as the winners of the NF Showcase 2023 awards.
Founded by Feargal Meegan, Assiduous was declared the winner of the One-to-Watch Award, which was sponsored by IADT Media Cube. Assiduous is a capital markets technology company that aims to help aspiring growth companies to build valuable businesses and achieve financial independence. The company is working on a digital platform to provide a matchmaking service for companies raising capital.
The founder of AI Interpreting, Mark O'Brien was chosen as the winner of the Best Innovation Award, which was sponsored by Flynn O’Driscoll. This company is developing a platform to encourage businesses and governments to engage with the deaf community using AI sign language interpreters.
Push Me is the brainchild of Philip Brophy who was declared the winner of the Most Likely to Scale Award, which was sponsored by LEO DLR. This start-up will focus on a digital coaching platform to help companies to retain their top talent.
Snappie was named the winner of the Best Pitch Award which was sponsored by NovaUCD. Mihael Melnic is the creator of Snappie, a digital platform for creative agencies that aims to remove the complexity in making websites.
The NF 2022/23 Showcase is the second New Frontiers phase 2 Programme to be delivered by the IADT Media Cube in partnership with NovaUCD. The programme lead, Orla Reynolds, said it was an “absolute pleasure” working with the latest entrepreneurs and seeing their businesses develop.
“I am also incredibly proud of the success our participants from last year have had since completing the programme,” confirmed Reynolds.
Emma Leahy, Vice-President concurred by stating "The IADT Media Cube and NovaUCD New Frontiers collaboration is an exciting partnership and brings together an experienced team who offers invaluable support to the start-up community. The remarkable level of engagement and motivation demonstrated by each of the New Frontiers participants speaks volumes to their commitment to the programme and ambitions for the future."
Phase 1 of the next New Frontiers Programme will begin in October, with recruitment for Phase 2 expected to begin in December.
