Congratulations to Cian O’Flaherty, CEO of the Convex Lens and Safecility and his team, who have been shortlisted for two categories at the UK ASCP Safety and Compliance Awards. Safecility was founded by Cian O’Flaherty, a New Frontiers participant at the Media Cube, where Safecility is now based. The company employs several IADT graduates and closed a €110,000 round of funding from both the European Space Agency and EU Horizon 2020 funds in late 2020.
Safecility’s Wireless Emergency Lighting Controller has been shortlisted for the Product of the Year award category. The Safecility team has also been nominated for the Partnership & Collaboration of the Year award for its Emergency Lighting Automation Project with Barcud Housing, in Wales.
Safecility’s Wireless Emergency Lighting Controller is a sensor that assists property owners in meeting their health and safety obligations to test emergency lighting in buildings by offering automated testing. The Safecility system sensors are attached to the emergency lights in a building and the installation takes less than fifteen minutes. The sensor tests the lights and reports any faults as they arise. The testing results and fault reports are forwarded via NBIoT (NarrowBand Internet of Things) in real time so faults can be addressed immediately. This system takes less than fifteen minutes to install and eliminates the need for manual testing.
