Tenacious Engagement - (formerly MyDealDoc)

Mike Morrissey and David Keenaghan
Mike Morrissey and David Keenaghan met while working as chartered accountants at KPMG - one of Dublin's '''Big Four" accountancy firms. Both were juggling the cost of living in Dublin and this combined with the growing popularity of mobile apps inspired them to set up their own company MyDealDoc in 2014 and create two money saving apps for consumers - BabyDoc and TippleDoc. Realising that they needed to give this business idea their best shot, Mike and David resigned from their jobs to devote themselves fully to the business.

In 2015, Mike was accepted to the New Frontiers programme at the Media Cube. The company quickly acquired an impressive client list from Ireland's top FMCG businesses. The company went on to receive Competitive Start Funding from Enterprise Ireland and won the Best Digital Startup prize at the Bank of Ireland Startup Awards in 2016.
In 2017 the company launched the BabyDoc Club which is the largest Mum & Baby platform in Ireland and one of the fastest growing in the UK. Their client list includes P&G, Unilever, Nestle, Boots, Asda and many more large blue chip clients! In early 2021 the company launched into the retail market with their BabyDoc Shop through a combination of e-commerce and bricks & mortar stores.
A rebrand to Tenacious Engagement was carried out in 2018 and the company is now located in offices on Pottery Road, Deansgrange, Dun Laoghaire.

I regularly get asked to meet young aspiring entrepreneurs for a coffee to try impart some wisdom - the first piece of advice I give is to apply for New Frontiers. I firmly believe it was one of the most important first steps we took with the business. Aside from the grants, being in that environment and having greater access to higher calibre of mentors and advisors was crucial. It also adds credibility for the likes of Enterprise Ireland and investors. We absolutely loved our time in the Media Cube which is run by a great team. Many thanks to Ann Marie Phelan, Fionnghuala Ni Neill (and former team member, Dominic Mullan) for their generous support!
