Regional Event 2022 - Money Talks
On Wednesday the 9th of November participants and alumni from the New Frontiers Programme on the campuses of the Institute of Art, Design & Technology Dún Laoghaire, NovaUCD, Technological University Dublin (City Centre, Blanchardstown and Tallaght) and Dundalk IT & DCU, came together for an evening of networking & conversations with experts on finance & funding in the exceptional surroundings of 1 Windmill Lane.
The event was called Money Talks and was the first Regional Event since before the pandemic. Paula Carroll, National New Frontiers Programme Manager, opened the event with a video showcasing how the programme supports entrepreneurs. With MC Conall O Moráin at the helm the audience enjoyed a keynote talk by Bobby Healy of MANNA followed by a Q&A.
A panel discussion followed with investors from Delta Partners, Elkstone, HBAN and LIRA shared what they are looking for when they are investing in companies including who you are, what you do, and why should they care. They emphasised the importance of conveying entrepreneurial spirit and passion whilst demonstrating a clear business and financial plan.
On the second panel of the evening, alumni of the New Frontiers Programme, Derya Sousa, Kianda; Paul Finlay, Hiiker; and Donal Kerr, 4Securitas shared their journey’s since participating on the programme, including their significant funding rounds and plans for the future.
Networking followed along with a ‘Meet the Funder’ opportunity. The Local Enterprise Office, Enterprise Ireland, HBAN, Furthr, Spark Crowdfunding, ESA BIC, Elkstone and Delta Partners were there for 1 to 1 conversations with founders.
The evening was a wonderful celebration of entrepreneurship, and the team are very grateful to Enterprise Ireland for their support, the contributors for their insights and guidance and the wonderful entrepreneurs for joining.
